The Consignor's Agreement
Thank you for choosing Indiana Steve’s Outdoor Consignment Store as your landing for consignment sales.
We are happy to offer you a 50/50 agreement so that you get 50% of the sale price on the items you consign with Indiana Steve. You can even set a bottom price limit on high end items worth $100 or more, but Steve reserves the right to decline any items that aren’t good for his reputation.
Note: If your consignment items do not sell within 90 days (3 months), Indiana Steve requests that you paddle on over and pick them up so we can keep the merchandise rotating. You are free to try the items again after a couple months off (such as when the item might be “in season”), or perhaps you will decide to donate your unsold items to a good cause (like a church yard sale or a friend in need). Items that remain in the store after the 90 days without arrangement for their pick up will be liquidated by donation or reduction without concern for the 50/50 agreement. The only answer you may be able to get is that the coons must have run off with your stuff.
Checks are written and mailed the third week of each month for all items sold within that time period. However, if your 50% is less than $25, Indiana Steve’s will not write a check; instead, you have two options:
a) you can let the less-than-$25 roll over into the next month (and when it goes over $25 the following month, you’ll get a check for it all), or
b) you can wait until all your items have sold or the time has run out for them and then any amount owed will be paid to close out the agreement.
A free goodie (i.e. cup of coffee, cookie, lure—whatever Indiana Steve feels like cooking up, or pulling out of the river, that month) goes to all consignors who drop by to pick up their checks in person on the 3rd Wednesday of each month! Steve figures that it’s a good trade: You make the effort to save him postage and envelopes, and he shares a little treat of some sort with you. Oh, and if you are especially hard up and need any amount owed we will write checks for less than $25 on that Wednesday too.
